Vice President, Partnerships & Business Development
**SUMMARY**
The U.S. Center for SafeSport is a non-profit organization focused on ending all forms of abuse in sport. We endeavor to make athlete well-being the centerpiece of the nation’s sports culture through abuse prevention, education, and accountability.
**POSITION SUMMARY**
The Vice President, Partnerships & Business Development (VP, P&BD) oversees the strategic and tactical implementation for fundraising including major gifts, corporate and foundation development, strategic and revenue generating partnerships, and Center content distribution alliances.
**Essential Functions**
* Under the leadership of the CEO, develop and execute comprehensive business plans that deliver diversified revenue streams for the organization, and refine fundraising goals aligned with strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.
* Create sustainable revenue streams by developing and executing business plans for all fundraising programs, events, and partner activations.
* Lead discovery and business development activities to acquire new partnerships and track performance against annual targets through structured monthly progress reports.
* Lead Development and Partnership teams with a focus on mid- to long-term unrestricted giving, major grants, and select corporate projects, as well as public and private foundation support for high-priority Center initiatives.
* Lead negotiations and the development of business plans to ensure profitability for assigned projects, including commercial agreements, and define appropriate intellectual property and business structure parameters in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and the CEO.
* Collaborate with Executive Leadership Team (ELT) stakeholders to ensure plan cohesiveness among other Center priorities.
* In partnership with the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer (CFAO), establish and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals; collaborate on backend reporting requirements and financial modeling to support organizational growth and long-term sustainability.
Develop and maintain monthly and/or quarterly revenue forecasts for all projects, including key milestones and success metrics
**Experience Required**
* Bachelor's degree in business administration or another relevant area of study, Master's degree preferred
* Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including successfully managing teams, fundraising, and developing corporate relationships
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, the Adobe Creative Suite, and the ability to quickly master additional relevant technologies
* Experience as a senior leader of large, diversified teams and goals
**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**
**Required**
* Proven partnership development expertise across diverse and complex stakeholder landscapes.
* Demonstrated success in fundraising, development, and revenue generation within nonprofit, athletic and/or mission-driven organizations, including a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability targets.
* Strong financial acumen, with experience developing business plans, budgets, and forecasts for new and existing initiatives.
* Demonstrable experience designing and implementing operational efficiencies that improve performance and scalability.
* Ability to collaborate effectively across departments integral to fundraising success, including R & R, External Affairs, Education, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.
* Proven negotiation skills across multiple channels and partnership structures.
* Highly metrics- and research-driven, with a strong understanding of analytics and their application to data-informed decision-making.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, align, and engage a wide range of audiences.
**Preferred**
* Experience in sport or abuse prevention and response organization
* Strong lead generation and consumer marketing; can think and process multiple variables simultaneously
* CFRE certification
**WORK REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENT**
* Standard office equipment provided
* Office environment in multi-story, dog-friendly building
* Some night and weekend work hours
* Some overnight travel required
**WORK LOCATION** – Denver, CO; or a location deemed suitable by the Center (e.g., near major airport and a state where the Center has established business operations. Current states eligible for remote work: AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MO, MT, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NY, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI).
This is a full-time, exempt position. The starting salary range for this position is $179,131.00 - $205,000 annually and will be commensurate with background and experience.
